(PERU) - A northern Indiana man accused of raping and kidnapping a woman in Tippecanoe County was arrested in North Carolina on Friday.
Police say 35-year-old Dustin Day of Peru got into a woman's car near her home uninvited and armed with a handgun back in August. Then they say Day drove the woman to a rural road and raped her along with holding her against her will for 17 hours.
Officers with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and a sheriff's office in the area took Day into custody. He's facing felony charges of rape and kidnapping.
