(INDIANAPOLIS) - You’re a small step closer to being able to place sports bets in Indiana.
A study committee is recommending legislators consider legalized sports wagering.
House Public Policy Chairman Ben Smaltz says he doesn't see it as an expansion of gambling, but the equivalent of a new machine at a casino.
But Smaltz says he does have concerns about details like where you can bet and on what.
The study panel is purposely leaving those questions open.
The Indianapolis-based NCAA fought all the way to the Supreme Court to preserve federal limits on sports betting.
