(ALBION) — Northeastern Indiana police have apprehended a man who was mistakenly released from a county jail earlier this week.
Thirty-five-year-old Charles Lee Wiedman was taken into custody Thursday morning at a home in Kendallville and returned to the Noble County Jail in Albion, about 25 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
WANE-TV reports that Wiedman was jailed on an auto theft charge when a court approved his early release from jail. But sheriff's officials say he was "incorrectly" released from jail on Tuesday, two weeks earlier than the court's order.
Wiedman won't face any additional charges. He's scheduled to be released from jail on Oct. 23.
