(FORT WAYNE) - Online music instrument and audio gear retailer Sweetwater says it will add 1,000 jobs by 2022 with an expansion of its campus outside Fort Wayne.
Sweetwater said Tuesday the $76.4 million project will include a 350,000-square-foot warehouse and a 35,000-square-foot conference center.
It said the new jobs will include logistics, marketing, and administrative personnel and will pay $54,000 per year on average.
Sweetwater founder and president Chuck Surack says the new warehouse will accommodate the growth the company has experienced. It currently employs more than 1,300 people and has invested more than $108 million since 2012 in expansions.
Gov. Eric Holcomb attended the project's groundbreaking. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is offering Sweetwater up to $8.8 million in tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants for the expansion.
