(GREENWOOD) - A suburban Indianapolis man is accused of strangling his 70-year-old mother to death in her home.
Forty-nine-year-old John Hatton Jr. of Greenwood is being held without bond on a murder charge in Carla Sue Hatton's death.
The Indianapolis Star reports officers were called to the woman's home just south of Indianapolis on Nov. 3 after a relative said John Hatton Jr. had admitted killing his mother.
Officers found Carla Sue Hatton fatally strangled, with blood on her hair and face and a bloody razor knife nearby.
Court documents say officers found John Hatton Jr. wounded and covered in blood, with trails of blood on the home's ground floor and a pool of blood in the living room.
Hatton allegedly told officers that "the voices made me do it".
