(HAGERSTOWN) - Human remains found in a Wayne County soybean field in October have been identified as a 30-year-old local man who was reported missing in August.
The sheriff's office says Trevan Winterton's identity was confirmed with help from a forensic anthropologist at the University of Indianapolis.
The Richmond Palladium-Item says Winterton's remains were discovered on Oct. 1 by a man driving a harvester, across from Hagerstown Community Park. The cause of death has not been determined.
