(VINCENNES) - A Vincennes teen arrested two years ago for assaulting a special education teacher at Lincoln High School was sentenced Tuesday in Knox County Superior Court 1.
The Vincennes Sun Commercial reports 18-year-old Donavon Davis was sentenced to 29 days in jail, two years of house arrest and six years probation.
He was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service each year for the next eight years.
Davis was arrested in May of 2016 for pushing teacher Cheryl Clemons to the floor, kicking her in the head and strangling her.
The newspaper reports Clemons suffered serious injuries, including multiple brain bleeds and broken bones, and can no longer teach as a result.
