Edna Bridges – Bedford
Edna Bridges of Bedford passed away Saturday morning, September 18th at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 69. Born in 1941 in Urbana to Howard Poll and Margaret Poll, she had been married to Charles Bridges since 1958, worked at RCA / Thompson Electronics for more than 35 years and was an avid bingo player. She is survived by her husband; four sons, Charles Bridges, David Bridges, Chris Bridges and Michael Bridges; two sisters, Sharon Wickens and Alice Thompson; as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Margaret Crubar, Christina Mustang and Emma Poll; three brothers, Christian Poll, Robert Poll and Howard Poll. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 21st at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, September 20th at the funeral home.
Mary Ely – Mitchell
Mary Ely of Mitchell passed away Sunday morning, September 19th at her residence at the age of 81. Born in 1929 in Tennessee to Matt and Betty Donaldson, she had been employed at NAD Crane and was a member of the Mitchell Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by children, James Ely and his wife Vicky Jonna Pemberton and her husband Danny, Raymond Ely and Rhonda Mahan and her husband Donnie; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, September 22nd in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 7:00PM on Tuesday and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
