Ova Christine Baxter of Shoals passed away Saturday morning, October 2nd at Bedford Medical Center at the age of 96. Born in 1913 in Franklin, Tennessee to William and Odel Summers, she had been married to Luther Baxter since 1997, was retired from RCA in Bloomington and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ. She is survived by four sons, Ray, Jerry, Larry and James Baxter; April Simmerman and Janice Williams; as well as on brother, Bill Summers and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven; as well as three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday at Queen-Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mount Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the hour of service on Wednesday.
Justus Allen Cady of Bedford passed away Saturday morning, October 2nd at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 31. Born in 1979 in Bedford to Thomas Cady and Christina Wright, he had been married to Shawna Belcher since 2004, was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School in the class of 1999 and was a security guard. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Trinity Cady and Gracie Cady; his mother and step-mother; one sister, Kaly Dalton; two step-brothers, James Wright and William Stewart; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, October 6th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, October 5th at the funeral home.
