Austin L. Sims, Jr. – Bedford
Austin L. Sims, Jr. of Bedford passed away on Tuesday, April 19th in Florida at the age of 62. Born in 1949 in Bloomington to Austin and Margaret Sims, he had been married to Linda Tipton since 1990, was retired as a union shop steward at General Electric and was also a member of the I.B.E.W. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Austin Sims III and his wife Tammy, Bill Sims and his wife Stacey and Rusty Sims and his wife Crystal; one step-son, Darren Tipton and his wife Bonnie; one step-daughter, Sandy Hammersley; sister, Susie Hendricks and one brother, Dennis Sims; as well as several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rita Kay Sims. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, April 22nd at the funeral home.
