Billie Warren Clifton – Mitchell
Billie Warren Clifton of Mitchell passed away on Sunday, May 29th at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital at the age of 80. Born in 1930 in Mitchell to Elmer and Josie Clifton; he had been married to Barbara R. Strange since 1951 and later to Sarah Jane Vaught in 2001. He was retired from Otis Elevator, was former owner of Erwin’s Greenhouse, was a former member of the Mitchell Lions Club and life time member of the First Christian Church. Billie was also a member of Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM and was a 1950 graduate of Mitchell High School. He is survived by his second wife; children, Frankie Clifton and Donna Villarreal. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; and one sister, Evelyn Cameron. Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM on Wednesday, June 1st in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday and from noon until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
