Zelma Wilson Crane – Oolitic
Zelma Wilson Crane of Oolitic passed away on May 31st at the age of 74. Born in 1937 to Alex and Magdeline Wilson, she had been married to Dean Crane since 1955 and was employed at Cortron in Orleans. She is survived by two sisters, Rosalee Wright and Kathy New; as well as two brothers, Floyd Wilson and Earl Dean Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and several siblings. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 8:00PM on Friday and from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM at the funeral home.
Wilma M. Atkins – Mitchell
Wilma M. Atkins of Mitchell passed away on Tuesday, May 31st at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 76. Born in 1934 in Nelson County, Kentucky to William and Virgil Duncan, she had been married to Jimmie E. Atkins since 1953, managed the Camp Store at Spring Mill State Park and worked in the cafeteria at Mitchell High School. Wilma was also a past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star No. 503. She is survived by children, Jimmie E. Atkins, Larry D. Atkins and Cheri Ross; several grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Burns, Frances Hoskins, Joyce Powell and Barbara Kilhourne. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Thelma Wasserman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 4th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday and from 10:00AM until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
