William R. Hopkins – Westfield
William R. Hopkins of Westfield passed away on Sunday, July 17th at St. Vincent Hospital at the age of 80. Born in 1931 in Bedford to Fred Hopkins and Belva Hopkins, he had been married to Norma Jean Chapman since 1953, was Assistant Manager for Mills Market Grocery, was a graduate of Mitchell High School in the class of 1949, was a member of the Bryantsville Church of Christ, was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. He is survived by one son, Michael Hopkins and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; both spouses; one brother, Lewis Hopkins and two sisters, June Pruett and Catherine Ratliff. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, July 20th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bryantsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
