Raymond L. Staley – Oolitic
Raymond A. Staley, 72, of Oolitic died, at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his residence.
Born June 18, 1939 in Oolitic, Indiana, he was the son of Gilbert and Maxine (Hubbard) Staley. He married Sharon K. Quillen on October 9, 1965 and she survives. Raymond retired from NWSC where he was a electronics technician and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
After the death of his mother in 1963, Raymond raised his brothers and sisters.
Surviving with wife Sharon are; two daughters Cindy Wade and husband, Leroy of Oolitic, Tina Sparks and husband, Patrick of Bloomington; two sons, Brian Staley and wife, Dinia of Hernando, MS and Curt Staley and wife, Misty of Bedford; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers; Tim Staley of Bedford and Jim Staley of Oolitic; four sisters, Sonia Young of Oolitic, Marilyn Heady of Bedford, Janelle Evans of Florida, and Nancy Stuckey of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Dana Marie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Steven Hight officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday September 18, 2011 at the mortuary.
