Loretta Whitney – Bedford
Loretta Whitney, 71, of Bedford, died at 8:50 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born November 12, 1939, in Seymour, Ind. she was the daughter of George E. and Florence (Browning) Hanner. She was a member of the Bedford Baptist Temple and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Chambers and his wife Leslie of Fayetteville; two daughters: Cathy Lindenschmidt and her husband Joe of Lynnville, Ind. and Terri Pulliam and her husband Rick of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Pat Limeberry of Bedford; one brother, George Yaney of Olkahoma; seven grandchildren:Christy Pulliam, Tina Walker, Jody Lindenschmidt, Veronica Hanson, Kenny Pulliam, David Linderschmidt, Nickolas Hartshorne; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Gerald W. Walker Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with pastor Lyman Taylor and Pastor Dirus Dustin officiating. Burial will follow in Chresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 pm. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 3 at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Madylene Mowery – Bedford
Madylene Mowery, 91, of Bedford, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford.
Born November 19, 1991 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lula (Beal) Anderson. She married James Roach, Harold Mowery and Herman Harris, all of whom preceded her in death. She retired from NWSC Crane as a computer program manager.
Survivors include a son, Jim (Jimmy) Roach and his friend, Carol Hedrick of Bedford; grandchildren Randy Roach ad his fiance, Ginger Kern and James (Jay) Roach and his wife Shannon; great grandchildren, Matthew Roach, Zach Roach, Tasheena Roach, Jacob Roach and Hiley Roach; great great grandchildren, Kelan Roach; her former daughter-in-law Barbara Roach; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, siblings, Harold James and Charles Robert (Bob) Anderson, Dorothy Davis and Betty Hawkins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m on Tuesday, October 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
