Billy D. Sullivan – Bedford
Billy D. Sullivan, 70, of Bedford, passed away at 10 a.m., at his home.
Born June 8, 1941 in Bedford, he was the son of William McKinley Sullivan and Josie (Melvin) Sullivan Miller.
He married Rita L. Hardwick on July 22, 1961 and she preceded him in death in May 2011.
He worked as a coal miner at B&LS Coal Mining Company for 15 years and then worked for the State of Indiana Highway Department for 10 years retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church, NRA, National Wildlife Association and an avid outdoorsman and lifelong hunter. He also loved playing he harmonica.
Surviving are three sons, Billy Dean Sullivan Jr. and his wife Melanie, of Petersburg, Robert M. Sullivan and his wife Adrienne, of Jasper, Tristan W. Sullivan, of Bedford; four daughters, Victoria Zoelzer and her husband Craig, of Bedford, Valarie L. Martin and her husband Dennis, of Bedford, Stacy Pruitt and her husband Robert, of Bedford, Ashley Baker, of Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Good, of Bedford, Ruthann Cain, of Solsberry, Carol Manuel, of Austin, Lois Ritter, of Bedford; one brother, Joe Sullivan, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 14th at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
