Robert Wayne Nikirk – Bedford
Robert Wayne Nikirk, 88, of Bedford, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Robert was born Sept. 25, 1923 in Silverville, he was the son of William Henry and Ona , Louise (Turner) Nikirk. He married Phyllis Jackson, on Nov. 10, 1946 and she survives.
Robert was a dispatcher for IRC&D Trucking in Richmond, retiring in 1983. He was a 1942 graduate of Fayetteville High School. He was a member of Sugar Grove Methodist Church, in Dunkirk, IN.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis, of Bedford; two sons, Alan and his wife Nelda Nikirk, of Bedford, and Philip and his wife Marcia Nikirk, of Anderson; three daughters Nancy Nikirk, of Ft. Wayne, Clara Shaw, of Redkey, IN., Sara Nikirk, of Bedford; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; three brothers, Morris and his wife Virginia Nikirk, of Long Island NY., Paul and his wife Peggy Nikirk, of Fayetteville, James and his wife Ann, of Bloomington; two sisters, Wanetta and her husband Kenny McCain, of Elizabethtown, Roseann and her husband Larry Bell, of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Merle Nikirk and one sister, Gail Feltner.
Private graveside services will be held at Owensburg Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Frances Ball – Mitchell
Mary Frances Ball, 89, Mitchell, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at her residence.
Born May 8, 1922, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Lester and Della (Sanders)
Sloan. She married James Emil Ball and he preceded her in death in 1995.
She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1940. She and her husband both graduated
from Central Business College in Indianapolis, and met while traveling to Mitchell on
the weekends. They worked at Allisons and lived in Indianapolis for several years.
They resided in Mitchell for more than 60 years, operating a car business for 40 years. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors are his children, Marcy Brooks, of Williams, James S. and his wife Connie Ball, of Hope; grandchildren, Mary Ann Waggoner, of Bloomington, Brian and his wife Kelly Waggoner, of Mitchell, James R. and his wife, Megan Brooks, of Bloomington,
Sloan K. Ball, of Hope; great grandchildren, Emily Waggoner and Thomas Waggoner, brother, Charles Sloan, of Linton, Robert Sloan, of Loogootee; sister, Dorothy Sears, of Ohio.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband and sister Louis Stepp.
A private family graveside service will be on Tuesday at Mitchell Cemetery.
