Gerald W. Tolliver – Mitchell
Gerald W. Tolliver, 62, passed away at 10:46 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011, at his residence.
Born March 8, 1949 in Bedford, he was the son of Donald M. and Carol Rae (Tharp) Tolliver. He married Patty Jean (Mann) Thoms November 19, 2010.
Gerald graduated from Mitchell High School in 1967 and Indiana State University.
He was a teacher at Mitchell High School retiring in 2010, after 40 years of service. During his tenure he sponsored SADD and also taught drivers education. He was recently elected to Mitchell City Council and had served two terms as Persimmon Festival Chairman. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Tolliver, of Mitchell, sons, Jason and wife Stefanie Tolliver, of Indianapolis; Kevin and wife Abbie Tolliver, of Brownsburg; Adam and wife Christy Tolliver, of Charlestown; stepchildren, Michelle Bowers, of Campbellsburg; Alex Thoms, of Mitchell, Adam Thoms, of Orleans, Daniel Thoms, of Bloomington, Rebecca Russell, of Seymour, David Thoms, of Orleans, John Thoms, of Oklahoma, Evan Thoms, of Orleans, Solomon Thoms, of Mitchell, Logan Thoms, of Orleans;
brother, Mark W. and wife Beth Tolliver, of Mitchell; grandchildren, McKinley, Lucy, Katie, Isabella; 6 step grandchildren
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, at Mitchell Church of Christ with Bro. Allen Burris and Rev. Kevin Giggy officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the church.

Vernon Leroy Clark – Bedford
Vernon Leroy Clark, 79, of 2607 R Street, passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at IU Health Hospital in Bedford.
Born October 27, 1932 in Jackson County he was the son of Gerald “Jack” and Helen (Davis) Clark. Vernon married Christina “Carol” Elliott on August 26, 1951. He was a Korean War Army veteran and the manager of the Mills Market meat department for many years. He attended the Oolitic Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christina “Carol” Clark; two sons, Ricky Clark and wife Tanya, of Bedford, Alan Clark, of Bedford; two grandsons, Ryan Clark, of Bloomington and Riley Clark, of Bedford; four siblings, Kenny Clark, of Bedford, Louella Cagle, of Bedford, Janice Westbrook, of Texas and Richard Clark, of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dan Voorhies officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 2nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
