Robert Robinson – Bedford
Robert Robinson, 69, of Bedford, passes away at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born march 31, 1942, in Sand Gap, Kentucky, he was the son of W.F. and Fannie (Markham) Robinson. He married Linda Diana Tuddy on September 3, 2002 and she survives. He was a lifelong truck driver, last working for Burress Trucking, in Dale, Indiana. He was of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Diana Robinson, of Bedford; three sons, Donnie Robinson, Matthew Robinson and Joshua Robinson, all of Tennessee; two stepsons, Frankie Batchelor and fiancee Brandy Baker; Brandy Baker, of Johnson, KY., one grandson, Gavyn Batchelor, of Mitchell; two granddaughters, Jamahlyn Campbell and Natasha Brasher, both of Kentucky; five brothers, Dennis and his wife Jane Robinson, of Florida, Ned and his wife Freddie Robinson, of Richmond, Colonel and his wife Janet Robinson of Mitchell, Roy Robinson, of Indianapolis, Charlie and his wife Vicky Robinson, of Berea, KY.; one sister, Carol Harrison, of Berea, KY. And several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sarah Harrison and brother Mark Robinson.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Dirus Dustin officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mildred Lois East – Bedford
Mildred Lois East, 88, of 6824 State Road 158, Bedford, passed away at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at her home.
Born November 1923 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Willis and Mary (Murphy) Coulter. She married Frank F. East in 1942 and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Priory of St. John Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank F. East, of Bedford; six sons, F. Darrell East and wife, Tana, of Lincoln, CA.; Edward East and wife Kathy of Silverdale, WA., Alan East and wife Diane, of Cincinnati, OH., Timothy East and wife Leona, of Bedford, Steve East and wife Nancy, of Knoxville, MD., Pat East and wife Anna, of Bedford; three daughters Mary Anne Wargo, of Williams, Karen Shafer, of Bedford, Linda Lee and husband John of Severn, MD.; one brother, C. Dean Coulter, of Bedford; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her life-long friend, Georgianna Duvall.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Gail East, her parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Graveside services will be at noon on Wednesday, January 4th at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday January 3rd and from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4th at Day & Carter Mortuary.

Marjorie Maxine Quackenbush – Bedford
Marjorie Maxine Quackenbush, 84, of Bedford, passed away on January 1, 2012, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born August 19, 1927 in Mitchell, the eldest daughter of Lyle and Grace Ruby (Greer) Franklin. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1945. She married Jerry Kenneth Quackenbush from Bedford, owner of the R Street Grocery. Married more than 60 years, they had a long happy life together.
She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Bedford where she taught Sunday School, was active in a women’s circle and helped annually with the church bazaar. Marjorie was also an active member of Kappa Kappa Sigma social sorority for many years. She also worked at the R Street Grocery alongside her husband. She loved needlework, reading, gardening and adored her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Kenneth Quackenbush, of Bedford; daughters, Patsy and husband Steve Bower, of Columbia, SC., Martha and her husband J.R. Holmes, of Bloomington, Nancy and her husband Rex Bennett, of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Holmes, Meredith (Holmes) Johnson, Katelyn Bennett, Hannah Bennett, Lindsay Bower, Stephanie Bower and Caroline Bower.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen Louise Hicks and Margaret Spaulding.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Beth Ann Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Roger M. Ikerd – Bedford
Roger M. Ikerd, 48, of Bedford, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 8 a.m. at his home.
Born May 31, 1963, in Bedford, he was the son of Frank and Janet (Helton) Ikerd. He was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. He was previously employed with the Bedford Street Department.
Survivors include his mother, Janet Ikerd, of Bedford; two brothers, Steven and his wife Debbie Ikerd and Jeff Ikerd, both of Bedford; one sister, Sandy and her husband Alan Mills, of Bedford, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Reno Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
