Virgil Kenneth Dorsett – Mitchell
Virgil Kenneth Dorsett, 83, of Mitchell, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 9, 1928, in French Lick, he was the son of John David and Mahala Jane (Hopper) Dorsett. He retired from Lehigh Cement Company and was a farmer. Kenny was a member of the Mitchell Lions Club and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church.
Survivors include: grandchildren, Matthew Dorsett and Katie Kinder, great grandson, Drew Kinder, mother of his children, Vera Slaten, Mitchell; son, Stephen wife Teri Dorsett, Mitchell; brother, John Dorsett, Bloomington; sisters, Eunice Weidman, Columbus, Mary Lou Clements, Martinsville step sister, Phyllis Drummond
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Dorsett; brothers, Harry, Louis “Pat”, George, Glenn, Charles, and Howard David Dorsett; and sister, Lula Weidman.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Sheena Colleen Graves – Mitchell
Sheena Colleen Graves, 26, 638 Lawrenceport Main, passed away Thursday evening, in an automobile accident.
Born January 29, 1985, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Steven and Lisa (Hopper) Graves.
Sheena was employed at Paoli Peaks. Following graduation in 2003 from Mitchell High School, she attended Ivy Tech.
Survivors include: mother, Lisa (Albert) Small, Mitchell, father, Steven (Kristi Terrell) Graves, Mitchell, brother, Shane Graves, Mitchell, step brothers, Jeremy Small, Findley, Ohio, Kyle Gee, Bedford, step sisters, Amber Small, Louisville, Kentucky, Audrey Gee, Bedford, Carrey (Shoults) Whalin, Orleans, grandmother, Betty Meadows, Mitchell, step grandparents, Charlie and Bonnie (Small) Huff, Hardinsburg, several aunts and uncles
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Lou Black and Robert I. Graves; aunt, Julie Graves; and uncle, Victor Graves.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Wilson officiating. A family graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lawrenceport Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kim Alan Hamilton – Mitchell

Kim Alan Hamilton, 52, of Mitchell, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Saint Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born August 7, 1959, in Washington County, he was an avid Purdue and Cincinnati Reds fan. He was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church in Mitchell.
Survivors include his mother and father, Shirley L. and Donald L. Briscoe of Mitchell where he made his home; his brother, Kevin (Cathy) Hamilton of Sardinia, Ohio; sisters, Diana (Larry) Caudell of Mitchell, Denise (Mark) Riker and Debbie L. Terrell of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Chastain Funeral Home from noon until the service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, with Brother Max Timbrook officiating. Burial will be in Cavetown Cemetery.

Ermil Norman – Bedford
Ermil Norman, 98, of Bedford passed away at 5:15 p.m. Friday at Garden Villa.
Born November, 11, 1913 in Heltonville, he was the son of Walter and Dessie (Sowder) Norman. He married Lola B. White on February 17, 1940 and she preceded him in death on September 12, 2011. Ermil retired after sixty years preaching at Central Church of Christ in Bedford and the Church of Christ in Brookston. He also worked nine years for General Motors.
Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Norman, of Texas, Walter Leroy Norman, of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Tracy Brown and Jennifer Warren, both of Fort Wayne, Scott Norman, Darrin Norman and Nicole Norman, all of Texas; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, Ruby Wagner, Lenora Todd and Laverne Todd, two brothers, Clifford Norman and Irvin Norman.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Darryl Simmon and Jack Beyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville. Friends and family may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
