Ruth “Aileen” Quackenbush – Lexington, NC.
Ruth “Aileen” Quackenbush, 77, of Lexington, NC., formerly of Bedford, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Born November 9, 1939 in Magoffin County, KY., she was the daughter of Ezra Salyers and Virginia (Allen) Salyers.
She married William Walker Quackenbush on December 29, 1957 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1990.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include a son, Williams Wade Quackenbush, of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Billy Wayne Arnett, of Lexington, NC.; Hager Ward Arnett, of Linwood, NC; one sister, Donna Sue Standifer, of Three Oaks, MI., one stepsister, Alvideen Salyers, of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two stepbrothers, Dennis Arnett and Jolly Arnett; and one stepsister Deloris Holiday.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Pastor John Lane officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
