William “Bill” J. Powell – Leesville
William “Bill” J. Powell, 59, of Leesville, passed away at his home at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012.
Born August 9, 1953, in Columbus, he was the son of Leonard and Marilyn (White) Powell.
He was originally from Seymour then moved to Leesville. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Leesville. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department after many years of service.
Survivors include his wife Cindy, of Leesville; three sons, Brian Powell, of Medora, Billy Powell, of Evansville, Mark Nicholson, of Bedford; three daughters, Alison Burton, of Florida, Beth Mathews, of Bedford, Michelle Jacks, of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Beth Ferguson; one grandson, Jacob Powell.
Graveside services will be today, April 24, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Leesville Cemetery, with Pastor Paul Neuman officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Leesville Cemetery Association.
