Wanda Rose Reuter – Springville
Wanda Rose Reuter, 81, of Springville, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Bliss House in Bedford.
Born November 19, 1930 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Earl and Mellie (Henderson) Anderson. She married Romar Reuter on August 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2010. She was an assembly worker at Visteon and of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include a son, Kenny Reuter, of Bedford; three daughters, Patty Watkins and husband, Stan, Judy Hudson and husband Kenny and Darlene Arnold, all of Springville; grandchildren, Keith Denney, Brent Denney and wife Samantha, Kathy England, Scott Martindale and wife Kelly, Misti Beck and husband, Jim, Brandyn Arnold, Devyn Arnold and Lexi Reuter; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a brother, Chester Anderson, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and five sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Alan Phillips and Brother Bobby Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Springville West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Day & Carter Mortuary.

Ida Flo Compton – Bedford
Ida Flo Compton, 94, of Bedford, passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Ellenton Hospice House in Ellenton, Florida.
Born April 6, 1918 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Joseph and Bell (Merry) King. She married Lester Compton on October 23, 1935 and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2012.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. She taught Bible classes for 30 years; was a 4-H leader for 5 years in Lawrence County; sang in the church choir for 30 years; was a member of the Lawrence County Art Association and a member of the Lawrence County Blind Association.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette and husband Jerry Smith, of Palmetto, Florida; one granddaughter, Angela Tyquiengco of Florida; and two great grandchildren, Brooke and Brendon Tyquiengco, of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Esco King, Otha King, Pricey King and Kersey King, five sisters, Druzella Stevens, Lois Miller, Roxie Miller, Iva Daniels and Trula Chase.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Englewood Baptist Church with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will be at Port William Cemetery in Williams. Friends may call on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Englewood Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Johanne W. Murphy – Bedford
Johanne W. Murphy, 82, of Bedford, passed away at 6:24 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her home.
Born October 19, 1929 in Catlin, Illinois, she was the daughter of Edward M. and Esther (Nesbitt) Wheeler. She married Paul J. Murphy on February 3, 1951 and he survives. She was a homemaker and registered nurse, having worked at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Illinois. She was a graduate of Danville High School in 1947 and a graduate of Lakeview School of Nursing in Danville, Illinois. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where she was active in Parish and school activities; Tri Kappa Sorority; American Red Cross volunteer, including being a member of the Indiana State Council. She received the Paragon Award for Indiana Red Cross Volunteer of the Year; was a charter member of Bedford Swim Club; board member of Louisville Regional Blood Center (Red Cross); a charter member of Bedford Recreation Foundation and she was a 2007 recipient of the Walk with Excellence Award (Women of Excellence).
Survivors include her husband, Paul Murphy, of Bedford; six sons, Michael and wife Linda Murphy, of Evansville; Kevin and wife Michelle Murphy, of Bedford, Thomas and wife Margaret Murphy, of Danville, Richard and wife Lisa Murphy, of Bloomington, Daniel and wife Moriah Murphy, of Tallahassee, Florida, Tim and wife Velvet Murphy, of Bedford; two daughters, Karen and husband Alan Chase, of Bedford, Susan and husband Dan Moster, of Ft. Wayne; 19 grandchildren, Miranda Stull, Alex and Olivia Roll, Kyle and wife Holly Murphy, Meghan and husband Ian Edington, Lori and husband Ryan Wronowicz-Frasher, Matthew Wronowicz, Daniel, Mark and Emily Murphy, Mallory and Elliot Murphy, Charley and Michael Murphy, Josh, Ivy and Sarah Murphy, Katelyn and Anna Moster; one great granddaughter, Adelyn Murphy and special sister, Audrey Thorlton, of Port Charlotte, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Wheeler.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Thornton memorial Boys Club, Limestone Girls Club and the American Red Cross.
