Virgina May Robinson – Bedford
Virgina May Robinson, 94, of Bedford, passed away at 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born September 29, 1917 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Ernest and Roxie May (Miller) Robinson. She retired from the Indiana University School of Business on February 1, 1984.
Survivors include cousins, Teri Stevens and her husband Kenneth, of Bedford; her caregiver and friend, Barbara Tackett, of Bedford; one sister-in-law Dorothy Robinson, of Greenwood; several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard L. Robinson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 10th at the Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Services are under the direction of Day & Carter Mortuary.
Mary Margaret Overton Harrison – Mitchell
Mary Margaret Overton Harrison, 84, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at 5:15 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at her home.
Born October 10, 1927, in Evansville, she was the daughter of Everett and Nora (Caudell) Overton. She married William H. Harrison May 29, 1945. She was a homemaker, a 1945 graduate of Mitchell High School, and a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority. Mary was a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church and the original cradle roll.
Survivors include her husband, Willliam H. Harrison, of Mitchell; children, Candace Catherine Isom and husband, Stephen E. II, of Mitchell, Drucinda Lynn Burton and husband, Chris, of Mitchell, William Henry Harrison III and wife, Bonnie, of Mertztown, PA; grandchildren, Stephen E. Isom III, John-Paul H. Isom and wife, Julie, Lauren Elizabeth Burton, Kathryn Candace Burton, William Henry Harrison IV, Nora Mae Harrison, John Thomas Harrison; great granddaughters, Rieken Elizabeth Isom, Julia Marie Isom; sister in law, Betty H. Fields, of Orleans; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Kris Grissom.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at Jacob Finger United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Kersey and Bro. Marc Fields officiating. Entombment will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the service on Friday at the church.
Casketbearers: Mike Fields, Charles Lancaster, Patrick Phillips, Stephen Isom III, William Harrison, and John-Paul Isom.
