L. Lavon “Bonnie” Callahan – Bedford
L. Lavon “Bonnie” Callahan, 78, of Bedford, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born April, 30, 1934 in Mitchell, she was the daughter of John H. and Minnie (Pipher) Ball. She married Louis L. Callahan on May 4, 1951 and he preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sew, garden and tend their farm animals. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Callahan and Brenda Willoughby, both of Bedford; one son, David Callahan and wife Susan, of Bedford; four grandchildren, Brad Anderson and wife Heather, of Indianapolis, Amanda Swift and husband Clint, of Centerpoint, Howard Dean Callahan and Sarah Jane Callahan, of Bedford; two sisters, Mary Louise Williams and Mildred Henderson, both of Mitchell; four brothers, Kenneth Ball, of Bedford, Charles Henry Ball, of Mitchell, James Ball, of Bloomington and Ronald Ball, of Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Lois L. Anderson; one son-in-law, James JB Willoughby; two brothers, John Ernest Ball and Leon Bell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 21st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors John Lane and Reed Beard officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
