Dymple Ruth Green – Mitchell
Dymple Ruth Green, 86, of Mitchell, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born July 3, 1925, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Cortland and Myrtle (Moffatt) Pruett. She married Vernon Green July 16, 1945, and he preceded her in death October 27, 2008.
She had been a bookkeeper for the Lawrence County CETA program. Dymple, along with her husband, owned and operated Dymple’s Delight for 33 years. They prepared and shipped persimmon pulp all over the world. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and a 1944 graduate of Mitchell High School.
Survivors include son, Christopher Green and wife, Amelia, of Mooresville; granddaughter, Rachael Green; sister, Audrey Wynn, of Mitchell; nephew, Steve Wynn, of Orleans.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Father Paul Landwerlen officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. A Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
