John Robert “Bob” Hardwick – Oviedo, Florida
John Robert “Bob” Hardwick, 71, of Oviedo, Florida, passed away on June 19, 2012 in Florida. He was born on April 28, 1941 in Martin County. He was the son of Sat and Mattie Hardwick.
John retired as traffic manager at BDP Company, a Division of Carrier Corp., in Indianapolis in 1979 and from the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk in May 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, of Oviedo, Florida; his daughters Bonnie and husband David Baughn, of Bedford, Kelly and her husband Trevor Carr, of Casselberry, FL.; grandsons, Brandon Baughn and Jordan Carr; sisters Annis Skinner, Broadlands, IL., Mildred and husband Doug North, of Mesa, AZ., Sue and husband Larry Hammersley, of Springville and Brenda and husband Jack Terrell, of Bedford; one brother, Tyra and wife Suzanne Hardwick, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Brenda Jane Hardwick and Marilyn Hardwick and brother-in-law Harley Wade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dan Waggoner, Bill Hardwick, Clifford Hardwick and Roe Hardwick and one sister Nellie Wade.
Cremation was at the National Cremation and Burial Society in Ovideo, FL. Graveside services will be held at Trinity Springs Church of Christ Cemetery in Trinity Springs at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 with Ken Wilson officiating. Family and friends are invited to the Central Church of Christ at 1329 12th Street in Bedford from noon to 2 p.m. for lunch and a celebration of life.
Local services are under the direction of Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Esther Eileen Parton – Springville
Esther Eileen Parton, 90, of Springville, passed away at 7:45 a.m. at her home.
Born November 5, 1921 in Marion County, she was the daughter of Earl and Marjorie (Rumrill) Nail. She married Charles Parton on September 3, 1941 and he survives. She was an original roller derby competitor until WWII and retired from Otis Elevator in Bloomington. She was an avid horse lover and active in 4-H in Lawrence, Monroe and Greene counties. She supported the 4-H Horse and Pony club at the Bar-P Ranch. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Parton, of Springville; a daughter, Wilma Marple and husband Rodney, of Springville; a son, Michael Parton, of Springville; a sister, June Kinder-Myers, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brooke Patron, James Marple, David Marple and Alan Parton; great grandchildren, Lane Parton, Chrissy Robinson and Ashley Gagle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joseph Parton; a brother, William Nail; sisters, Maxine Pauley and Wilma Nail.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Jim Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Dishman Cemetery in Greene County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The Delta Theta Tau Sorority will conduct a service at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 13th at the mortuary.
