Mildred B. (Elliott) Kessinger – Indianapolis
Mildred B. (Elliott) Kessinger, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away at 1:07 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born January 26, 1922 in Illinois, she was the daughter of L.T. and Inez (Bates) Elliott. She married Rev. Robert Kessinger on September 6, 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1998. She was a homemaker and a Methodist minister’s wife. She was a member of Horizons of Faith United Methodist Church and had attended the Oolitic United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Kessinger, of Indianapolis; two sons, Steve Kessinger and wife, Alice, of Indianapolis, Mark Kessinger and wife Xiujuan, of Sellersburg; five grandchildren, Molly Vaughn and husband, Jason, of Indianapolis, Katy Kessinger, of Taiwan, Luc Chenoweth and husband Brant of Indianapolis, Bonny Kessinger, of Indianapolis and Yi Zhang, of Sellersburg; three great grandchildren, Ellie Jack, and Vivian; three sisters, Nida Pruett, Peggy White and Carol Clark; two brothers, Don and Sherrill Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Joy White and Ruth Ann King.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dan Voorhies officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
