Alfred E. Fletcher – Bedford
Alfred E. Fletcher, 83, of Bedford, passed away at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born October 9, 1928, he was the son of Noble and Katie (Crider) Fletcher. He married Deloros Christine Sluder on August 17, 1950 and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2007. He was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1947. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard. He was the owner/operator of Mid-Town Foods in Bedford retiring in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Alan Fletcher, of Bedford; two daughters, Debra Reynolds and husband Aaron, of Minnepolis, MN, Crystal Arsenault and husband Jeff, of Oolitic; grandchildren, Jason Reynolds, of Mnneapolis, Ashley Barlar and husband Jonathan, of Tampa, FL, Kayti Patterson and husband Kyle, of Bedford, T.J. Arsenault and fance, Sara Donahue, of Bloomington, Heather Deckard and husband Mike, of Harrodsburg; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Lottie Marlin and husband Roy B., of Chattanooga, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Cecil and William Fletcher and a sister Hazel Field.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 12th at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 2 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday, August 12th at the First Baptist Church.
Daniel Edwin Dack – Shoals
Daniel Edwin Dack, 59, of Shoals, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born August 25, 1952 in Moline, Ill., he was the son of Edwin Eugene and Cheryl (Binder) Dack. He married Pamela Cummings on September 4, 1976 and she survives. He was a graduate of Chesterton High School with the class of 1970. He was a self-employed professional chauffer and had attended the Fayetteville Baptist Church. He was an avid motorcycle rider who took his wife any where she wanted to go. He loved to watch Chicago Bear football. He loved his wife, daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela, of Shoals; three daughters, Amelia Allen and husband Robbie, of Leesville, their children, Conner, Bailee and Daxton; Jennifer Crites and husband Paul, of Springville; their children, Logan and Jacob; Hannah Wade and husband Kyle, of Heltonville; their children, Lillian and Emily; his mother, Cheryl Dack, of Valparaiso; four sisters, Cynthia Gustava, of Katy, TX, Sandra Mason, of Chesterton, Marlia Hodges, of Taylors, South Carolina and Claudia Miller, of Valparaiso.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th at the Fayetteville Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Fayetteville Baptist Church.

Deborah Jane Miller – Mitchell
Deborah Jane Miller, 61, of Mitchell, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
Deborah was the daughter of Labon Kern Jr. and Mary Ruth (Taylor) Kern and was born on April 7, 1951 in Lawrence County.
She married Samuel Joseph Miller on July 1, 1972 in Bedford and he survives. She was a graduate of Mitchell High School, Class of 1969 and attended Oakland City University. She was employed at Shelby Trucking as a secretary. She was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Joseph Miller, of Mitchell; two sons, Samuel Andy and wife Shelly Miller, of Orleans and Jason Earl and wife Kristi Miller, of Mitchell; two grandsons, Samuel Adam Miller, of Orleans and Jakob Earl Miller, of Mitchell; two granddaughters, Sarah Annalee Miller, of Orleans and Bayleigh Jane Miller, of Mitchell; two brothers, Mike and wife Kim Kern, of Bedford and Joe and wife Melissa Kern, of Mitchell; three sisters, Melinda Lynn and husband Rick Mosier, of Mitchell, Cindy Bowers and companion Ronnie Terry, of Mitchell and Amanda D. and husband James Gross, of Mt. Vernon and numerous relatives especially in Lawrence and Gibson counties.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father and brother Kelly David Kern.
Funeral services will be on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Tom Bostic officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to in Deborah’s memory to the Orleans Christian Church Playground Fund.

Eithel L. Turner – Bedford
Eithel L. Turner, 89, of Bedford, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Bloomington Hospice House.
Born February 13, 1923 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Brada K. and Rose (Adams) Turner. He married Marjorie Ann Barlett on October 19, 1945 and she passed away on January 4, 1996. He retired from General Motors as a forklift operator in the maintenance department in 1977 and was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Dive Christian Church. He served as an elder at the Dive Christian Church and Bartletsville Christian Church for over 60 years. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 440.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Turner and wife Sherry; a daughter, Karen Atchison and husband Mike, all of Bedford; three grandchildren, Chris Atchison and wife Heidi, Cory Atchison and wife Kim, all of Bedford; John Cummings and wife Lynessa, of Salem; three great grandchildren, Faith Cummings, Will Cummings and Alexa Atchison; a brother, Frank Turner and wife Mona, of Oolitic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, Vestal, Dewey, Harold and Noble.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Dive Christian Church with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartlettsville Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post 33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Beatrice Ruth (Bower) Lee – Bedford
Beatrice Ruth (Bower) Lee, 95, of Bedford, passed away at 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born January 3, 1917 in Marion County, she was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Beatrice may (Griffith) Bower. She married Harold H. Lee on May 6, 1937 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1976. She was a homemaker, volunteered at the Bedford Regional Medical Center and of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffery D. Lee, of Indianapolis, Michael D. Lee and wife, Carol, of California; three grandchildren, Barry D. Lee, of Georgia, Kerry D. Lee, of Mooresville, Katrina D. (Lee) Parker, and husband Robert, of Phoenix, AZ.; four great grandchildren; one great great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Wimpleburg, of Albany; one brother, Robert Bower, of Lincoln, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Gerry D. Lee.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, August 13th at Day & Carter Mortuary.

Ronal Dean Brock – Bedford
Ronal Dean Brock, 71, of Bedford, passed away at 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born July 28, 1941 in Lawrence County he was the son of Ralph B. and Mary Lois (Tolliver) Brock. He retired from RCA after working for 35 years as a material handler. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, served in the National Guard and was a member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman’s Club. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include eight cousins, Susan Elaine Hancock, Jerri Lynn Stewart, Sara Ellen Snyder, all of Bedford; Sharon K. O’Conner, of Arizona, Patricia Ann Bennett, of Texas, Mary R. Paulson, of Georgia, William J. McHugh, of Sarasota, Florida, Jay R. Baker, of Zionsville and life-long friend mike Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five uncles, five aunts, maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Danny Goens officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where members of the Eagles lodge 654 will conduct service at 7 p.m.
