Dr. Mary Wilson Lasseigne – Bedford
Dr. Mary (Wilson) Lasseigne, 95, of Bedford, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at her residence.
Born March 4, 1917, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of James E. and Anna
(Hill) Wilson. She married Al Lasseigne September 25, 1946, and he preceded her in
death in 1986. She was a retired Professor Emeritus of Indiana University Southeast. Mary graduated from Huron High School and received her doctorate degree from Indiana University in
1963. She received memberships in Pi Lambda Theta and Kappa Delta Pi Honorary Societies in Education, and the American Association of University Professors. Mary was named an Outstanding Educator of America in 1973.
Those offering immediate care were nieces, Ella Inman and Janie Jones of Williams,and special caregiver, Molly Baker of Orleans. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Her parents; husband; brothers, Howard, John, Earl, Isaac, Charles, and Hubert Wilson; and sisters, Ella Bridges and Martha Lynch, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and from noon until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Loretta M. Eads – Bedford
Loretta M. Eads, 79, of Bedford, passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 6th at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born August 25, 1933 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Jesse Dale and Zena (Rogers) Ray. She married Merle Eads on November 3, 1951 and he survives. She had worked at M. Fine & Sons in Bedford and G.E. in Bloomington.
Survivors include her husband, Merle, of Bedford; three sons, Ronnie Lee Eads, of Avoca, Steven Dale and Randy Joe Eads, both of Bedford; five grandchildren, Rayn Eads, Amy Gerkins, Austin Eads, Brandy Eads and George Eads; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Reuter, of Springville and Gloria Dean Poole, of Oolitic.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Lee Eads; three brothers, Harold, William (Bill), and Roger Ray; a sister, Helen Hupp.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 10th at the New Union Cemetery with Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Janice K. Brown – Bedford
Janice K. Brown, 63, of Bedford, passed away at 10:25 p.m. on Friday, September, 7, 2012.
Born February 26, 1949 in Paris, Ill., she is the daughter of Homer H. and Esther M. (Hawkins) Travis. Janice married Richard D. Henderson and then she married Terry Brown on February 16, 2004 and he survives. She was employed as a school bus driver in Shawswick by the North Lawrence Community Schools. Janice attended the Fairview Community Church. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, gardening, Harley riding with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Terry, of Bedford; one daughter, Richelle K. (Henderson) Deckad, of Bloomington; one son, Richie Henderson, of Bedford; two step-sons, Tim Brown and Tom Brown, both of Bedford; six grandchildren, Braden York, Zack Deckard, Jarrett Brown, Braydon Brown, Jacy Smith, Luck Henderson; three brothers, Jerry Travis, Harlan Travis, Don Reynolds; two sisters, Phyllis Massa and Connie Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, David, Buford, Jacob and Bobby Joe Travis and Vestal Reynolds.
Funeral services will be at 10 .m. on Tuesday, September 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 10th 2012 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
