Barbara Ann Carter-Clifton, 80, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday morning, November 4, at her residence.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Steven L. Coulter – South Bend
Steven L. Coulter, 48, of South Bend and formerly of Mitchell, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 3, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 8, at Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Betty J. Blanton – Mitchell
Betty J. Blanton, 78, passed away at 12:59 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born June 8, 1934, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Elmer Harold and Elma (Terrell) Terry. She married Carl O. “Red Bird” Blanton July 28, 1951, and he preceded her in death December 8, 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of Bonds Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, sons, Robert E. Terry, of Mitchell, Carl Daniel and wife Barbara Blanton, of Orleans; former daughter in law, Tenia Pence, of Bedford; grandchildren, Mary Hutslar, Katonya White, Jacob and wife Jenny Blanton, Johnny Blanton, Amanda Blunk, Klayton Pence, Brittany and husband J. T. Richards, Ashley Blanton, William Blanton, John Terry, Sabrina Gonzales, Robert Shawn Terry, Rudy Magna, Gilbert Suarez, and Elizabeth Suarez; great grandchildren, Abbie, Sarah, Raleigh, Andrew, Tobie Jo, Haley, Gracie, Kayden, Victoria, Andrew, Tyler, Tabitha, Lino, Mahalia, Alyssa, Josh, and Joey; great great grandchildren, Claire and Rosalie; sister, Ruth Etta Jones, of Cuczo; brother, Dean Terry, of Mitchell
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Charles Eugene Terry, Alice Marie Winegar, Shirley Ann White, Nancy Louise Terry, and infant sister; grandsons, James and Claude Terry, and great grandson, Joshua Terry.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, at Bonds Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Robert Martindale officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Maxine Speer – Bedford
Maxine Speer, 76, of Bedford, died at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born January 16, 1936 in English, Indiana, she was the daughter of Otis and Flossie (Hammond) Piatt. She married Edward “Bud” Speer on June 4, 1953 and he survives. She was a homemaker and had worked several years D & M Drycleaners, Bedford, IN. She was a graduate of Clearsprings High School and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Surviving include her husband, Edward “Bud” Speer, if Bedford; one daughter, Tammara Lynn Speer, of Bedford; two sons, Gregory Dale and wife Dorothy Speer, of Monroe, MI and Mark Edward Speer, of Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Samantha Speer, David Speer and William Haggard; one great grandson, Traven Speer; three sisters, Irene Stafford, Ilene Stafford and Elzora Patton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Henry Piatt; and three sisters, Evelyn, Mary Belle and Joyce Ann.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6264 Sandpit Road, Bedford. A Memorial Talk will be given at 3 p.m.
