E. Dale Wells – Bedford
E. Dale Wells, 83, of Bedford, passed away at 1:54 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at his residence.
Born June 29, 1929 in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of William E. Wells and Lena (Simpson) Wells. He married Janet Miller on June 18, 1960; and she survives. He was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for Stone City Construction and Ralph Rogers Group where he retired in 1991. He was a graduate of Oolitic High School, Class of 1947. He was a member of Oolitic Baptist Church. He was also a member of Solsberry Lodge, F&AM; Solsberry Oddfellows Lodge; and the Operating Engineers Union #181, Henderson, KY.
Survivors include his wife Janet Wells, of Bedford; one son, Justin D. Wells, of Springville; one daughter, Angela D. Wells, of Springville; four grandchildren, Kelsie R. and husband Josh Buhr, of Bedford, Kaelie R. Wells, of Springville, Bethany A. Well,s of Springville, and Joshua P. Wells, of Springville; four great grandchildren, Kegan Buhr, Ryder Buhr, Taden Wells, and Tayleon Wells.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Eli “Bill” Wells and Donald B. Simpson; and sister-in-law, Lois Wells.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will be at Lowder Cemetery, in Springville.
Friends may call on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
