Paul F. “Pete” Sears – Mitchell
Paul F. “Pete” Sears, 79, of Mitchell, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown.
Born May 15, 1933, in Fayetteville, he was the son of Pastol and Lucille (Boyd) Sears. He married Philis (Walton) Burton September 1, 1978, and she preceded him in death January 8, 2013. Paul retired from General Motors. He was a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and a 1952 graduate of Fayetteville High School.
Survivors include his daughter, Matina and husband Bill Hobson, of Mitchell; sons, Tony Sears, of Bedford, Jim Sears, of Floyds Knobs; stepchildren, Trudie and husband Tim Dillman, of Mitchell, John Burton, of Meridian, Mississippi, Susan and husband Steve Marlman, of Salem; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; brother, Merle Sears, of Mooresville
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Lois Smith; and brother, James Franklin Sears.
Funeral service will be at 2 pm Sunday, February 24, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Allen Burris officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Donetta Kay “Doni” Johnson – Bloomington
Donetta Kay “Doni” Johnson, 61, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday, February 19th at her residence.
Born October 20, 1951 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Sherwin M. Schmidt and Viola (Hupp) Adkins. She married Michael H. Johnson on August 29, 1970 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1990. She was a graduate of Smithville High School with the class of 1969. She retired as a secretary for Indiana University. Following her retirement, she spent time gardening and being the best mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend one could ask for.
Survivors include her daughter, Mistee D. Nichols and husband Chris, of Bloomington; a granddaughter, Alexxis Nichols; her siblings, Linda Lentz and husband Tom, of Mitchell, Terry Schmidt and companion Jeanne, Cheryl Browning and companion, Jim Miller, all of Bloomington; a brother-in-law, Steven M. Johnson, of Bedford; one nephew; four nieces; several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Viola and Arlie Adkins; her father and step-mother, Sherwin and Beverly Schmidt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, February 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Pat Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 9 pm on Friday, February 22nd and from 11 am until the hour of service on Saturday, February 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation or Bloomington Hospice.

Jackie Lee King – Mitchell
Jackie Lee King, 70, of Mitchell, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at his residence.
Born December 21, 1941, in Mitchell, he was the son of Albert and Myrtle (Radcliff) King. He married Ella Terrell August 5, 1961. His second marriage was to JoAnn Burton on July 17, 1984. He retired from Otis Elevator.
Survivors include, wife, JoAnn King, of Mitchell; children, Lisa Marie and husband Rick King, of Mitchell, Sherry and husband Michael Shaw, of Mitchell, Eric King and wife Ginny, of Alabama, Heather and husband Ryan Smith, of Alabama; stepchildren, Jason Allen and wife Brandy, of Louisville, Tiffany and husband Scott Gill, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Dillon Shaw and wife Sarah Alex Isbell, Abby Smith, Jackson King; step grandchildren, Emily Gill, Braden Allen, Zoe Romano, Kiley Moore, Josh Gill, Sophie Allen; great grandchildren, Owen Shaw, Carson Isbell; siblings, Norman King and wife Elnora, of Mitchell, Charlie King, of Fayetteville, Betty Tow, of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Albert King, Jr., Nellie King, Dorothy Green, Mary King, and James King.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Danny Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 pm to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
