Arthur Wesley Edwards – Bedford
Arthur Wesley Edwards, 73, of Bedford, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born January 31, 1940 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Wesley and Bessie (Hubbard) Edwards. He married Jennie Chenault on June 2, 1989 and she survives. He moved from Bedford to Arizona in his senior year of high school and lived there until 1988 when he
returned to Bedford. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie, of Bedford; children, Paul Edwards (Susan) of Bedford, Tammie Edwards (Jenny) of Black Diamond, WA, Tracy Skorick (Terry) of Prescott Valley, AZ, Don May of Tucson, AZ, Beverly Chenault Kemple (Johnny) of Bedford and Pam Henderson (Greg) of Williams; grandchildren, Dale Herring, Macey Renee Denton, Shawndine Henderson, Dawna Edwards, Annabel Edwards, Richard Edwards, Duncan Edwards, Tabitha Terrell, Stephanie Perez, Allen Kemple and Ashley Kemple Brandt; great grandchildren, Madden Perez, Liam Henderson and Connor Herring; other special family, Cherie and Eric Holmes and children, Cruz, C’Aira and Celina; a brother, Tom Edwards (Sandy) and a sister, Vicki Baird (Richard) all of AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Jeremy Henderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Thursday, March 28th at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Susan Lee Craig – Bedford
Susan Lee Craig, 63, of Bedford, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Bedford.
Born August 8, 1949, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Murrel and Geneva (Batman) Jackson. She was employed at General Motors in payroll, purchasing, shipping and receiving. She was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Otis Ladies Golf League and Powertrain Golf League.
Survivors include two daughters, Shellee Craig and Heidi Craig both of Bedford; a grandchild, Jackson Tanner Craig of Bedford; her twin brother, Stephen Jackson and wife, Connie, of Bloomington; a brother, James Jackson and wife, Claudette, of Heltonville; a sister, Maxine Smith of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert M., Joe Richard and William “Bud” Jackson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm on Saturday, March 30th at Hillcrest Christian Church with Pastors Mark Fugate and Charlie Scott officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 2 pm until the hour of service on Saturday, March 30th at Hillcrest Christian Church.

Nadine Marie Scofield – Bedford
Nadine Marie Scofield, 86, of Bedford, passed away at 2:57 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at I.U. Health, Bedford.
Born April 8, 1926, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Noah Aten Emery and Norma (Thomas) Emery. She married Alva Burl Scofield on February 15, 1946 and he died on March 10, 1986.
She was a retired hairdresser and homemaker. She had attended Bedford High School and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford. She also had been very active with Bedford Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Jean and husband Dennis Ryan, of Oolitic, Peggy and husband Randy Srygley, of Bedford, and Nancy K. Jones, of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Monique French, Robert Lee Young and wife Tangie, Michelle and husband Chris Anderson, Ian Martin and wife Jenny, Jesse Srygley and Chelsa Srygley; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva Burl Scofield; one sister, Margaret Richter; one brother, Roland Emery; and her only son, PFC Robert Lee Scofield, US Marine Corps.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Fr. Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be considered to the Veterans of the Vietnam War.

Gary N. Matson – Springville
Gary N. Matson, 74, of Springville, formerly of Strum, Wisconsin, died at 2 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 2, 1938 in Whitehall, WI, he was the son of Norval and Gladys (Thronson) Matson. He married Janice Missell on June 21, 1958 and she survives. He retired after thirty years as an electrical engineer for the Honeywell Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving 1957-1966 and a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his grandkids, golfing, fishing, baseball and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, of Springville; a daughter, Debbie Berry and husband, Scott of Troy, MI; two sons, Kevin Matson and wife, Michele, of Carmel, Paul Matson and wife, Missy, of Bedford; a brother, Bob Matson and wife, Connie, of Eau Claire, WI; a sister, Julie Corrington and husband, Paul, of West Linn, OR; grandchildren, Michael Berry, Nicholas Matson, Domenica Whitaker and husband, Jerry, Philip Matson and Patric Matson; great grandchildren, Finnigan Whitaker and Madelyn Whitaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday, March 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charles Groth officiating. Cremation will follow. Military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter #2. Visitation will be from 11 am until the hour of service on Thursday, March 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
