Susie Johnson, 55, of Bedford, passed Monday afternoon, April 1st.
Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Ronald David Proffitt – Mitchell
Ronald David Proffitt, 57, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born June 13, 1955, in Pulaski County, Virginia, he was the son of Harry D. and Betty Lea (Smith) Proffitt. He married Rebecca “Becky” Mayfield September 28, 1989. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 250. Ronald graduated from Dobboyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee, and was an optician’s tech. He attended Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Proffitt, Mitchell; children, Angela Proffitt, Mitchell, Jeremy Proffitt and wife Rachel, Limestone, Tenneesee; grandchildren, Elijiah Proffitt, Limestone, Tenneesee, Nikah Sinclair, Mitchell; brother, Robert Quesenberry, Radford, Virginia; sisters, Sherry and husband Bob Scott, Tennessee, Debbie Miller, Denton, North Carolina
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Eric Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4 pm to 7 pm Wednesday and from 9:30 am until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Harold P. Bell – Springville
Harold P. Bell, 74, of Springville, passed away at 10:39 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Westview Nursing Home in Bedford. Born May 5, 1938 in Pulaski County, Ky, he was the son of Charlie and Margery (Wesley) Bell.
He married Betty (Phillips) Bell on April 4, 1964 and she survives.
He was employed as a laborer at Reeds Stone Quarry for many years. He was a member of Local 741 Labor Union; he enjoyed fishing, his John Deere tractor and reading the bible and going to church. He was of the Pentecostal Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Bell of Springville; two daughters, Betty June and husband Robert Cooper, of Nancy, Ky, Lisa and husband Wendell Cooper, of Nancy, Ky; five brothers, Gary, Roy, David, Jay Larry and Morris Bell; one sister Darlene Hall and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charlie, John and Darrell Bell.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Brother Ray Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Springville West Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, 3 pm to 8pm at the funeral home. The Bell family would like to thank Westview Nursing Home and Dr. Shamloo for their care.

Ermil Joe Buck Ritter – Bloomington
Ermil (Joe Buck) Ritter, 89, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at his residence.
Born January 7, 1924 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Otto and Oma (Sowders) Ritter. He married Peggy Bartlett on November 22, 1947. He retired from Central Foundry in 1978 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. He was a member of the Bartlettsville Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; a son, Mark Ritter and wife, Vivian; a grandson, Aaron Ritter and wife, Marianne; a granddaughter, Emily Williams and husband, Jay; a great granddaughter, Ella Williams; one brother, Ellis (Red) Ritter and wife, Bernice; two sisters, Lucy Hedrick and Ada Deckard; sister-in-law, Vernice Ritter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ervin (Bud), Elbert (Honey) and Odie Ritter; two sisters, Evelyn Cracraft and one (in infancy).
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Thursday, April 4th at the Bartlettsville Christian Church with Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartlettsville Christian Church Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday, April 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
