Charles H. “Charlie” Morrison – Norman
Charles H. “Charlie” Morrison, 98, formerly of Norman, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 7:03 p.m. at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown.
Born October 24, 1914 in Norman, he was the son of Hugh and Josie (Baker)
Morrison. He owned and operated sawmills and farms. He also worked as a welder for Brunner Engineering. He was a graduate of Clearspring High School. He was a World War II Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient.
Surviving are his two sisters, Nora Roush and Minnie Duncan, both of Norman; and one brother, Harrell Morrison of Norman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Millard Morrison and James “Albert” Morrison; three sisters, Alice Sprankle, Edna Sovern, and Inez Speer.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Ben Durr officiating. Burial will be in Guthrie Creek Cemetery, with military graveside rites accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post 33 DAV Chapter 2. Friends may call on Friday, from 4 pm to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
