Ellen F. Burks – Bedford
Ellen F. Burks, 85, of Bedford, died at 2:30 am on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.
Born February 18, 1928 in Greene Co., KY, she was the daughter of Homer and Icy Mae (Pierce) Logsdon. She had worked at Dunn Memorial Hospital, the Hospitality House and the Hub Restaurant. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Nancy Burks of Spencer; two granddaughters, Anna Leigh Geuder of Germany and Rachel Nicole Burks of Bloomington; three great grandchildren, Kerstin, Vivian and Christopher Geuder.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Charles Stephen Burks.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 11, with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, at Day & Carter Mortuary.
