Blanche Esther Milligan – Mitchell
Blanche Esther Milligan, 65, of Mitchell, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her residence.
Born November 12, 1947, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William Dexter and Ida Elizabeth (Lewis) Milligan.
She had been employed at RCA, Dana Corporation, and retired from Garden Villa. Blanche graduated from Bedford High School in 1965. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bedford.
Survivors include her brother, Elza William Milligan and wife Minnie, Mitchell; sisters, Rosemary Knight, Bedford, Juliaetta Collins, Orleans, Pauline J. Brim, Mitchell; several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, and sisters, Della McCord, Martha Milligan, and Mary Fender, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Haverly Funeral Chapel & Cremation with Rev. Duane Brown officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
Casketbearers: Elza Milligan, Bill Brim, Mark Sutherlin, Ray Carron, Kevin Fender, and Aaron Deckard.
Kermit O. Williams – Bedford
Kermit O. Williams, 85, of Bedford, died at 10:32 am on Monday, June 10, 2013 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 30, 1928 in Martin County, he was the son of Ray E. and Flossie M. (Fish) Williams. He married Barbara J. Medlock on June 1,1950 and she survives. He was a building contractor and member of the Indiana National Guard. He was a former president of the Lawrence County Home Builders Assoc., life director of the National Assoc. of Home Builders and a member of the Englewood Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School during the summer months. He taught Sunday School at Believers Fellowship Church in Okeechobee, FL during the winter months.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Bedford; a daughter, Linda A. Pierce and husband, Vic, of Springville; a son, Stephen K. Williams DDS and wife, Michele of Bicknell; eight grandchildren, Vicki Pierce, Jason Pierce, Erin Pierce Probus, Machelle Pool, Adam Cliver, Jade Scaglione, McKenna Williams and Renee Jalbert; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Willodene Eads.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Thursday, June 13 at the Englewood Church with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 12 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
