Arter J. Thompson – Springville
Arter J. Thompson, 96, of Springville, died at 2:39 am on Friday, August 02, 2013 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born August 24, 1916 in Wayne Co., KY, he was the son of Charlie and Jane (Keith) Thompson. He married Ora Reva Powell on November 8, 1937 and she survives. He was a construction worker and member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Ora, of Springville; three sons, Lloyd Thompson and wife, Edna of Bloomfield, Vernon Thompson and wife, Peggy, Keith Thompson and wife, Sheila all of Springville; three daughters, Geraldine Kohlman and husband, Dick of Tucson, AZ, Elaine Thompson of Springville and Virga Huett and husband, Millard of Arkansas; 16
grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters, Cora Karen, Norma Sue and Patricia; three brothers, Robert, Rathmiel (Shorty) and William Thompson; five sisters, Alice Powell, Lydia (Liddy) Taylor, Bessie Phillips, Pearlie Kidd and Ottie Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, August 9 at the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church in Springville with Bro. Jimmy Jewell and Bro. Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, August 8 at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9 am until the hour of service on Thursday, August 8 at the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.

Alleen marie Pridemore Recker – Mitchell
Alleen Marie (Pridemore) Recker, 90, of Mitchell, passed away at 4 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at IU Health Paoli Hospital.
Born April 19, 1923, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Thomas A. and Pearl (Pearson) Pridemore. Alleen had been employed in retail sales and was a lifetime member of Tulip Street Christian Church.
Surviving family members are: William Scott Bush, Orleans, caregiver, Judith Bush Crews, Orleans, Donna Bush Conley, Orleans; sister, Dolores Cannon, Pittsboro; 4 nephews; 9 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ernest, Homer, Linza, and Glen Pridemore; and sisters, Lucille Pridemore and Adren Lou Bush.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. David Conley and Bro. Donnie Conley officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, and from 10 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
