Donald J. Faris – Bedford
Donald J. Faris, 86, of Bedford, died at 10:35 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born September 6, 1926 in Bedford, he was the son of Ernest L. (Tommy) and Nola A. (Root) Faris. He married Willa A. Mathis on December 31, 1955 and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2008. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW II and was a member of the National Guard for eleven years. He was an amateur radio operator K9GBR, a Boys Club coach and a member of the First Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1940. He retired as a maintenance foreman at General Motors in 1982 after thirty-five years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Faris and wife Jennifer of Bedford and Tommy Faris and wife Crystal of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Naphtali, Thomas, Jeremy and Timothy Faris; two sisters, Ada Carol Wagner and husband, Vic, Vickie Judah and husband Mark all of Bedford; two brothers, Oran L. Faris and wife, Laura of Frankfort, KY and Lowell Dean Faris and wife, Ann of Greenwood, IN; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Saturday, September 7 at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Dr. Tommy Faris officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 8 pm on Friday, September 6 at Day & Carter Mortuary.

Jerry L. Priddy – Oolitic
Jerry L. Priddy, 75 of Oolitic, passed away on Friday August 30, 2013 at St. Vincent- Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
He was born on August 18, 1938 in Greene County to Charles E. & Thelma C. (Garland) Priddy. Jerry was a retired carpenter and truck driver.
Survivors include his Children; Cheryl A. and Joseph Kimmel of Bedford, Susan P. and husband James Grimes of Bedford, Jerry L. and wife Lisa Priddy of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers: Thomas Priddy of East Oolitic and Kirby Priddy of Bedford; sister: Sherry Scott of Bedford; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 7, 2013 at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford; from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m.
In Lieu of Flowers, Donations can be made to the Children’s Christmas Program at Dive Christian Church in Bedford.
