Chase D. Key – Bedford
Chase D. Key, 22 of Bedford, passed away on September 25, 2013 at 10:10 p.m. at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born at the Bedford Medical Center on August 9, 1991 to Danny D. & Karen L. (Cooper) Key. Chase was a 2010 Graduate of Brown County High School, & attended the Mitchell Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his parents; Danny D. and Karen L. Key of Williams; one sister, Lori Key of Williams; grandparents; Rex and Lorraine Schlegel of Mitchel; grandmother Jimmie Lou Key of Mitchell; aunts and uncles Vance and Sharon Shipman of Mitchell, Bill Cooper, Jr. of Mitchell, Terry and Barbara Key of Bloomington, Tim and Michelle Tanksley of Mitchell, Tim and Vicki Tritle of Seymour; several cousins.
Chase was preceded in death by his grandfathers Claude Key and Bill Cooper, Sr.
Memorial Visitation will be on Sunday September 29, 2013 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. A Private Family Memorial will be held at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen, with burial at a later date.

Dora Rowe – Odon
Dora Rowe, 91, formerly of Bedford, died at 12:45 p.m. at Ketcham Memorial Center, Odon, IN.
Born June 21, 1922 in Oolitic, IN, she was the daughter of Noble and Frances (Stultz) Hackney
She married Chester LeRoy Rowe on Jan 31, 1940; he preceded her in death on May 19, 1985
She was a retired insurance agent with Keach and Grove. She was a member of Avoca Baptist Church, American Legion Auxillary of Linton, AARP. She enjoyed playing Bingo, camping, fishing and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kay Wilson of Glendale, IN, Rita and husband Bruce Burns of Odon, IN; One brother, Marvin “Ned” Hackney of Bedford; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Peggy Ann; Two sisters, Jewell Carmichael and Kathleen Lehman; Two brothers, Conrad “Connie” Hackney and Jon Hackney; one great great grandson, Cordae Love.
Graveside service will be on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca, IN.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Vera Brown – Bedford
Vera Brown, 73, of Bedford, died at 11:57 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born July 10, 1940 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Maynard Henry and Mary Delight (Bates) Gardner. She had been employed in nursing and as a factory worker.
Surviving are three daughters, Colleen Carnita Jackson Summitt and Kenneth of Bloomington, Melissa Dawn Wilson and Joe Kern of Mitchell, Leatha Gail Taylor and Barry of Tunnelton/Bon; one son Coy Dale Brown and wife Elisabeth of Bedford; one sister, Edith Sanders; 14 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was precededin death by her parents and three sisters, Ruth Smith, Mary (Kathy) Barlow and Dotty Martinez; one brother, Don Gardner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m.on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013.
