john David “Whitey” White – Mitchell
John David “Whitey” White, 73, of Mitchell, passed away on Tuesday December 24, 2013 at 9:25 a.m. at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
He was born in Lawrence County on July 14, 1940 to Paul & Mary (Glover) White. He was a graduate of Bedford High School; he was retired from GM Powertrain in Bedford after 42 years of service. He was an US Army Veteran
He was a member of the Bedford Eagles #654, Mitchell V.F.W., Mitchell American Legion Post #250, Bedford Moose Lodge, he loved to shoot pool enjoying it with his friends, and best friends were Lee & Lisa Booker
Survivors include one daughter; Paula (White) Ely and husband Timothy of Mitchell; one brother; Harold Dean White and wife Twila of Oolitic; his daughter’s Mother and caring friends, Cora (Charlie) Elkins of Bedford
He was preceded in death by his parents, & wife Evelyn
Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 27, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford, with military honors by the Mitchell American Legion Post #250. Friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Cremation will follow after the funeral service
