Georgia Ruth Vest – Springville
Georgia Ruth Vest, 87, of Springville, passed away at 6:13 am on Friday, February 07, 2014 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospice House.
Born April 8, 1926 in Thompson, Arkansas, she was the daughter of George W. and Grace (Stufflebean) Wilkins. She married Marion (Buddy) Vest on October 21, 1943 and he preceded her in death. Ruth was a homemaker and loved making quilts for people. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren dearly. She was a member of the Popcorn Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie Rainbolt of Oolitic, Carolyn (Bill) McDonald of Mitchell and Christy (Rob) Poole of Springville; one son, Marvin (Charlotte) Vest of Bloomington; two sisters, Joyce (Dwain) Vineyard and Loyce (Leo) Rigdon; fourteen grandchildren; two step grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, William, Dewey and Donald; two sisters, Annabelle and one in infancy; a son-in-law, Dale and one great-granddaughter, Hannah.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am at the Popcorn Christian Church on Tuesday, February 11th with Dee Kinman officiating. Burial will follow in thevByers-Rainbolt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday, February 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
