Richard A. Baugh – Bedford
Richard A. Baugh, 82, of Bedford, died at 9:33 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born June 23, 1931 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Floyd Baugh and Anna Marie (Collier) Baugh-Elkins. He
was a factory worker at Extruded Alloy, Ford and Visteon, retiring in 1994. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and was a member of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. He was a member of the Dive Christian Church. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and conversing with his friends at Cambridge Apartments
Survivors include a sister, Becki Woodsmall of Bedford; nephews, Greg Baugh, Daniel Woodsmall, Rick and Terry Chastain all of Bedford, Bill Cummings of Indianapolis,Mike and Doug Kendall both of Oolitic and Brian Baugh of Bloomington and Jordan Woodsmall of Manhattan, NY; nieces, Tammy Gilstrap and Andrea Fields both of Bedford Beth Smith of Bloomington, Christy Farhar of Shoals, Johnna Woodsmall of Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Baugh and Anna Marie (Collier) Baugh-Elkins; his wife, Katie Baker; two brothers, Robert Baugh and Jack Elkins; three sisters, Ruth Baugh, Linda Cummings and Jane Kendall.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Friday, March 7th at Green Hill Cemetery with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 1 pm until 3:15 pm on Friday, March 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

William S. Kirkman – Avoca
William S. Kirkman, 91, of Avoca, died at 11:45 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born November 3, 1922 in Avoca, he was the son of Clarence and Lelah (Lewis) Kirkman. He married Mary Jane Ingle on October 17, 1942 and she preceded him in death April 5, 2002. He later married Grace (Feller) Wolfe on March 8, 2004 and she survives. He was a self-employed contractor and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. serving during WW II. He served as Lawrence County Commissioner from 1978 to 1982. He was a member of the Pinhook Church of Christ and had attended the West Second Street Church of Christ. He was a member of Lawrence County Home Builders Assoc., Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM and the Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, Grace, of Avoca; a daughter, Rita Kirkman Beaver and husband, Dave, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Deanna Riggle and husband, Reece, of Bedford; a grandson, Byron Goen of Bedford; three great grandchildren, Shelby, Rehn and Shiley Riggle all of Bedford; a step-daughter, Karen Dorsett and husband, Gary, of Bedford; step-grandchildren, Brooke Dorsett of Jeffersonville, Cari Isom and husband, John of Mitchell, Amber Eads and Jordan Wolfe; a step great-granddaughter, Norah Isom of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Jane; three brothers, Harold, and Darrell Brinegar, and George Kirkman; a sister, Annetta Kasner; a step-son, Scott Wolfe and a great granddaughter, Leslie Jane.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, March 7th the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Michael Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, March 6th at Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the West Second Street Church of Christ.
