Lorna June Underwood, 93, of Bedford, died at 11:25 pm on Tuesday, April 2nd at Stonebridge Health Campus. Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Robert A. Pettyjohn – Bedford
Robert A. Pettyjohn, 84, of Bedford, died at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 02, 2014 at the White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born June 5, 1929 in Robinson, IL, he was the son of Walter and Dora “Blanche” (Conrad) Pettyjohn. He married Marian Roberts-Holmes on January 16, 1987 and she survives. He had been employed at Sarkes-Tarzian, ST Semicon and Marian’s Homecooking in Oolitic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Marian, of Bedford; five daughters, Suzanne Dumond and husband, Gerald, of Huron, IN, Lois Schenk and husband, Tom, of Evansville, IN, Linda Passmore and husband, Larry, of Mitchell, IN, Nina Webb and husband, Jeff, of Cambellsburg, IN, and Melisa “Missy” Mitchell and husband, Larry, of Solsberry, IN; two sons, Hugh “Buddy” Pettyjohn and wife, Mindy of Oleans, IN, Robert Pettyjohn and wife, Serena, of Ellettsville, IN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a step-daughter, Cheryl Kyle and husband, Jeremy, of Bedford, IN; two step-sons, Larry Holmes and companion, Donna George, of Bedford, IN and Robert Holmes of Bloomfield, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Ruby Brinkman, Mabel Larae “Rae” Fuller, Margaret Bryan and Betty Bruins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, April 4th at the Owensburg Cemetery with Chad Stowers and Don Thie officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of American Legion Bloomington Post. No calling hours are scheduled.

Donna Jean Mundy – Mitchell
Donna Jean Mundy, 84, of Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 20134, at her home.
Born January 2, 1930, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Delbert and Lucille (Jewell) Doane. She married Merlin E. Mundy April 26, 1944, and he preceded her in death September 17, 2008. Donna was a homemaker and a member of Woodville Baptist Church.
Surviving: sons, Ed (Tammy) Mundy, Spencer, David (Judy) Mundy, Bloomington; daughter-in-law Pam Mundy, Campbellsburg; grandson that was raised in the home, Jason Lee (Jennifer) Mundy, Ellettsville; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Gensemer, Shoals and Dee Doane, Bedford.
Her parents; husband; sons, Jimmie Lee Mundy and Michael Dean Mundy; grandson; sister, Delores Sherfick; and brothers, Dale Doane and Dean Doane, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
