Donald Lee Stalker – Bedford
Donald Lee Stalker, 76, of Bedford, died at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his residence with his family and friends by his side.
Born April 7, 1938 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Fred and Elsie (Smith) Stalker. He married Patricia Medlock on October 11, 1959 and she survives. He retired from General Motors and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved fishing more than life itself. His boat, fishing and family was his life.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of Bedford; two daughters, Tammy Leann Luttrell and husband, Dan of Bedford and Shelly Ranae Whaley and husband, Scott, of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Lindsey Neal, Bobby, Eric and Ryan Woods, Abby Coleman; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Robert and William Stalker both of Bedford; a sister, Dorothy Adams of Orlando, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Betty Nickolson, Martha Orsini, Georgia Cobb and Mary Allen; two brothers, Dale and Eddie Stalker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Sunday July 27th , in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Patton Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Lowell “Bill” Tolbert, 74, formerly of Shoals, passed away June 28, 2014, in Sarasota, Fl.
Born July 28, 1939, in Martin County, he was the son of Archie and Virginia (McBrayer) Tolbert. Bill grew up across the highway from the National Gypsum Company in Shoals, attended the Little Red School, Center Point School, and Shoals High School before moving to Florida. He retired after 50 years in the home construction business in Florida, working more than 32 years for the same business.
Survivors include his wife, Randy Tolbert, Sarasota, Florida; sons, David Tolbert, Maryville, Tennessee, Billy Tolbert, Phoenix, Arizona, Allan Tolbert, Bedford; daughters, Mylinda McGee, Savannah, Georgia, Lori DuBose, Belton, Texas; sisters, Katherine David, Dover, Delaware, Wilma Eagen, Bedford; brothers, Albert Tolbert, Mitchell, George Tolbert, Paoli; several grandchildren.
His parents; and sisters, Mary Maxine and Frances Pauline, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Port William Cemetery.
