Grace “Maurine” Peek Speer – Bloomington
Grace “Maurine” Peek Speer, 83, of Bloomington, went home to meet her loving husband, at 1:47 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at I.U. Health, Bloomington.
Born April 2, 1931, in Alabama, she was the daughter of George S. Peek and Grace (Bailey) Peek.
She married Curtis L. Speer on December 25, 1959; he died on January 25, 2010.
She was a graduate of Pontiac (MI) High School and had worked at RCA, Bloomington, before marriage. She was a member of Hillside Church of Christ, and was a homemaker for 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing orchids.
Surviving are her son, Roger Speer, and her loving daughter-in-law Sandy Imhausen Speer, Springville; daughter, Rhonda Speer, Bloomington; step-grandchildren, Brad Imhausen and Shannon Hitchcock; great grandchildren, Colton, Baylee and Brenlee Imhausen and Kenley Hitchcock; brother, Cloyd Peek and his children Andy (Pamela) Peek, Jan Deckard, Mindy Peek, and Ramona Peek Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; several aunts and uncles; and one nephew, Tim Peek.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Bro. Larry Dalton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
