Clarice (East) Abner – Bedford
Clarice (East) Abner, 88, of Bedford, died at 10:39 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015, at I.U. Bloomington Health Hospital.
Born June 8, 1926, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Ira East and Lottie (Terrell) East. She married Edgar Harold Abner on October 25, 1947; he died January 17, 2010. She was retired from M. Fine and Sons, Bedford and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Leesville, where she served as Treasurer for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda “Jo” Travis and Cinda Powell, both of Bedford; a niece, Judy (Steve) Weddell, Medora; four grandchildren, Talos C. Travis, Raleigh NC, Beth M. Mathews, Bedford, Michelle L. Jacks, Columbus and Mark A. Nicholson, Bedford; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Velma Goen, Bedford; two brothers, Paul and Joseph East, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; and one sister.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015. At Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Leesville, with Rev. Paul Neuman officiating. Burial will be in Leesville Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, and on Tuesday, from Noon till 1 p.m. at the church.
