Delight H. Arthur – Springville
Delight H. Arthur, 79, of Springville, went to meet the Lord at 4:09 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at I.U. Methodist Hospital.
Born December 15, 1935 in Owensburg, IN, the daughter of James Curtis and Sarah Jane (Hudson) Hayes. She married Everett Arthur, Jr. on March 20, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church in Springville. She had attended Owensburg School and Oolitic High School. She enjoyed gardening and her grandsons who were the light of her life.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Baker and husband, Robert Gregory, of Springville; two grandsons, Aaron and Daniel Baker; two sisters, Deloris Alexander of Farmersburg (her twin) and Rosella Strauser and husband, Raymond, of Springville; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Arthur and husband, Larry Haywood of Bloomington and Bonnie
Arthur Parkes and husband, Larry, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Diana Gale and Emma Jane Arthur (both in infancy); three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, June 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Larry Hawkins and Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, June 25th and from 10 am until the hour of service on Friday, June 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
