Willard E. Smith – Bedford
September 14, 1925 – September 2, 2015
Willard E. Smith, 89, of Bedford, died at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born September 14, 1925, in Bloomington, he was the son of Roosevelt Patrick and Lucille (Holland) Smith. He married Juanita Hicks on May 21, 1949 and she survives. He retired as a supervisor from RCA in 1985 after thirty-nine years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a fifty-seven year member of the Central Church of Christ. He was a ham radio operator and an avid antique radio collector.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of Bedford; two sons, Greg Smith and wife, Jane Hawkins Smith, of Port Huron, MI and Steve Smith and wife, Wendy, of Mitchell; five grandchildren, Erin Todd and husband, Trent, Tessa Smith, Dayson Smith and wife, Marisa, Kaila Smith and Ryan Smith; three great grandchildren, Grant and Graycen Todd and Kensley Brinegar; a sister, Carolyn Southern of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Smith and a sister, Vera Louise Smith.
Private services are planned with Pastor Rick Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. No calling hours scheduled.

Kyle Gene Robinson – Mitchell
Infant Kyle Gene Robinson passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was the son of Wade and Lindsay Danielle (Eggles) Robinson.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 3, at Mitchell Cemetery under direction of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Dorothy I. Bellush, 102, of Bedford, died at 2:55 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Mitchell Manor.

Irvin Eugene “Gene” Chitwood – Mitchell
October 27, 1939 – September 1, 2015
Irvin Eugene “Gene” Chitwood, 75, of Mitchell, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born October 27, 1939, in Brushy, Missouri, he was the son of Irvin E. and Goldie Rae (Woods) Chitwood. He married Victoria Sue Johnson February 9, 1976. He retired from the CSX Railroad as train master and was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F&AM. Gene was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Sue Chitwood, Mitchell; children Lisa Chitwood-Ward and husband, Mark, East Peoria, Illinois, Martin Karr and wife Wahneta, Plainfield, Todd Karr and wife Tara, Greenfield; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; dog, Casey; siblings, Sharon Earnst, Kathy Forshee, Dolly Prope, Barbara Earnst, Sandy Christy, Danny Chitwood,Thurman Chitwood, all of Illinois.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jim Russell officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
